How to reclassify a damage classification

This article will show you how to reclassify an existing damage classification.

Reclassifying Damage

Damage recorded during previous inspections can be reclassified if the damage has worsened. For instance, you are able to reclassify an existing damage classification from a Green Risk to an Amber or Red Risk and an Amber to a Red Risk. You are not however, able to reclassify an existing damage classification from a Red or Amber Risk to a Green Risk as the app will not let you do this.

If an error had been made when adding a damage classification during a previous inspection, you are able to remove the damage classification from the current inspection by simply tapping on the Reclassify button and setting the risk to None and then tapping on the red Delete button at the bottom of the screen.

To reclassify a damage classification from a Green Risk to an Amber or Red Risk, under the Confirm Damage Header, simply tap on the grey Reclassify button to the left of the Confirm button and it will take you to the Reclassify Damage screen.

The Reclassified Damage screen looks almost identical to the Add Damage screen.

Firstly you will need to change the damage Risk by tapping on the slider and dragging it to the right, choosing either Amber or Red. If you want to delete the damage classification drag the slider to None.

When reclassifying damage, only the Defect and Action fields can be changed.

Rack Component (Frame or Beam), Location, Component, Level and Position are all locked. You are still able to add Notes and Images.

When all fields have been filled in, the Reclassify button will turn blue and become active. This button will be greyed out until you have made sufficient changes and all fields are filled in.

After tapping on the blue Reclassify Damage button, you will be taken back to the inspection screen. You will see the newly reclassified damage under the Reclassified Damage heading. The damage classification which you reclassified will still be visible on the screen until the inspection has been marked as complete.

Removing your Reclassified Damage Classification

If you have made an error when reclassifying the damage, you can either tap on the Amber Reclassify button under the Confirm Damage header or you can tap on the Delete button on the damage classification under the Reclassified Damage header. When you click on the Delete button you will be prompted to confirm you would like to delete the Reclassified Classification.
