How to add a note and image with a caption during the add damage process

This article will show you how to add an image with a caption and note when adding damage to a rack. The added image and note will be assigned to the damage classification.

Before you tap the Add Damage button you may want to add an Image or Note which will be associated with the added damage classification.

Images and Note

After you have filled out all the damage fields you have the option to add an Image or Note to the damage classification.

Add Note

Add a note by tapping the Notes button and typing into the field. Tap the back button to return to the add damage screen.

Add Images

To add an image tap on one of the two Images buttons at the bottom right corner. Tap on the Bottom Button to take an image with your devices’ camera or tap on the Top Button to select an image from your device’s gallery.

If your camera has a flash, you can toggle the flash on and off with the Flash button at the top right corner. To zoom, drag the Zoom Slider to the right to zoom in and left to zoom back out. Tap the Yellow Circle button to take an image. Select Cancel if you aren’t happy with the image taken or click the Save Image button. After you tap Save Image you will be taken to the Image Gallery where you will see a thumbnail of the image taken.

Tap the back button at the top left corner of the screen to go back to the add damage screen and tap on the blue Add Damage button to add the damage classification with your image to your inspection.

Damage Classification

After adding damage you will be taken back to the inspection screen and the newly added damage classification will be found under the Added Damage header. As you will see in the screenshot below, if you added an image, a number counter (1) is detailed to the right of Image.

After adding the damage classification and you realise you didn’t add a Note or Image, you can easily do this retrospectively by tapping on Note or Image on the damage classification card and you will be taken to the appropriate screen to add this detail. You are able to easily navigate between the 3 screens by swiping left or right or by tapping on the headings tabs.

Add Image Caption

There are two ways to add a caption to an image.

Option 1

After taking the image with your camera, you will see the Image Preview.

  • Tap on the Add Caption button at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Type your caption into the Add Caption field and press the Blue Tick to confirm.
  • Tap Save Image.

Option 2

After adding an image it will appear in the image gallery.

  • Tap on the image.
  • Tap on Add a caption below the image.
  • Type your caption into the Compose Caption field and tap back to take you back to the image preview.
  • Close the image by tapping on the X at the top right hand corner of the image.

Inspection Damage Report

Any note that you add is associated with the added damaged component and will be displayed under the damage classification in the inspection report’s Damage Table.

Images and their captions will appear in the Inspection Images section of the inspection report with the added image auto associated with the damage classification.
