How to assign an action

This article will show you how to assign an action after completing an inspection

When you sign off an inspection as complete, and during that inspection you add any Amber or Red Risk damage, you will be taken to the Assign Action screen. For example, if during the inspection you add 2 new Amber and 2 new Red Risk damage classifications, these 4 classifications will be converted to repairs within the generated action.

Assignee

When creating / assigning an action, as default, the person who completed the inspection will be the name under the Assignee header. The assignee is the person who the action will be assigned to and the person who will complete the action.

You are able to change the assignee, tap on CHANGE to the right of the assignee name and you will be taken to a list with all your organisations users. Under the PRRS User Type heading, tap on a radio button to the left of the user you want to assign the action to and tap “X” on the top left corner. You will go back to the Assign Action screen and you will see the user name has been changed.

Due Date

When assigning an action, by default, the due date will be set to 28 days from the date you completed the inspection. The due date is displayed to the right of the calendar icon. To change the date, tap on 7 days or 14 days and this will change the date respectively.

Tap on Custom to change the due date to a custom date and a calendar will pop up. Select another due date and then tap to confirm and the calendar will disappear and you will see the due date has been changed on the Assign Action screen.

Photo Evidence Required

If you want photo evidence required when carrying out the repairs, tap on the toggle to turn it on. When closing out a repair with Photo Evidence Required you will be asked to take an image as proof that the damage component has been replaced.

Assign Action

When you are happy with everything, tap on the Assign Action button and you will be taken to My Actions list. If you have assigned the action to yourself you will see the action card on the list but if you have assigned the action to another user within your organisation the action card will be found under the All Actions list.
